10 Things you should always keep in your car

1. Make sure you always have some basic fluids in your car, such as brake fluid, engine oil and windscreen washer fluid.
2. Keep matches and candles or a lighter in the car.
3. Keep a cheap camera in the glove box in case of an accident. Most phones have cameras, but it is always good to have another one handy.
4. A shovel so that if you ever get stuck in the snow or mud you can dig your way out.
5. A blanket to keep warm if you do breakdown in bad weather.
6. A torch, so that if you get stranded at night you have some form of light. And if it is battery operated then keep the batteries with spares in the glove box.
7. Jumper cables so you can get the battery going if they run flat.
8. A spare tyre and repair tools so that if you do have a puncture you can change the tyre and get back on the road as quickly as possible.
9. A mobile phone charger that runs off the cigarette lighter.
10. Maps. Don't get lost and plan your trip properly.
