Keeping kids entertained on long trips
Children need to be entertained and kept busy on long car journeys so we have put together some tips on making your family holiday fun for everyone!
Plan a stop every two or three hours into your trip. If possible stop at a rest area or park along the way to allow the children to run around for a while.
Travelling with your children for long periods when going on holiday also offers the chance to play games that will pass the time and keep the children occupied. Games and puzzles are great for car journeys.
- I spy with my little eye - this is a great game for children that get car sick as it makes them focus outside the car trying to spot things
- Activity pads with games like Join the Dots, and other puzzles.
- Take plenty of picture books for young children, and books the older children can read to the younger ones.
- Audio Books are great to keep children captivated for long journeys.
Children will most probably, at some stage, want to sleep, so remember to take enough blankets and pillows for all of your children to make sure they are comfortable and warm!
