General exclusions
Tesco Dental Insurance covers the costs of dental treatment, from just £8.95 per month (Core Cover)
For clarity, Tesco Dental Insurance does NOT help you find a dentist if you haven't already got one. There may be difficulties in some regions registering with an NHS dentist if you haven't attended under the NHS in over a year. This is why there are Tesco Dental Insurance plans that cover NHS and private dental treatment.
Main exclusions (both plans)
No cover for:
- Pre-planned treatment at the time of joining
- Cancer treatment within the first 90 days of joining
- Implants, cosmetic treatment, tooth whitening, orthodontics or any treatment not deemed to be clinically necessary, unless as part of a course of NHS dental treatment
- Sporting injuries where a mouthguard or other recommended protection is not worn, unless treated on the NHS.
Tesco Dental Insurance Core Cover - no dental treatment covered within the first month of joining (but instant cover for emergency and accidental dental treatment). This is a one-off 'qualifying period' and only applies to the beginning of the policy.
Tesco Dental Insurance Premium Cover - no routine dental treatment covered within the first three months of joining (but instant cover for emergency and accidental dental treatment). This is a one-off 'qualifying period' and only applies to the beginning of the policy.
