NHS cash payments
Emergency admissions or accidents may mean you receive treatment from the NHS:
- £50 cash payment for each night you spend in hospital as an NHS patient for claims that would be covered privately
- You can claim for up to 40 nights in each membership year if you need to
Private road ambulance cover
- Your policy provides a private road ambulance if you need to be moved to, from or between hospitals when you are receiving private in-patient treatment or day-patient treatment
- Of course, use of an ambulance must be in connection with treatment you are receiving privately, and must be medically essential
Hospital-at-home
- Your policy provides full cover for treatment at home or another clinically-appropriate setting for the administration of intravenous antibiotics or intravenous chemotherapy for the treatment of cancer, instead of an in-patient stay, or day-patient treatment
- The service must be given by a qualified nurse under the control of a specialist as part of the treatment being provided, and it must be agreed before the treatment begins
Parent accommodation
It is difficult for parents who face leaving their children in hospital overnight, so if your child is receiving eligible private treatment,is under 11 and covered by the policy, we'll cover all accommodation expenses for one of you to stay in the same hospital.
