Buildings Insurance

I don't understand what buildings insurance is? Please help.

Buildings Insurance covers your house and its outbuildings (sheds and garages) against fire, lightning, explosion, earthquake, storms, floods and subsidence.

Buildings Insurance also covers fixtures such as your bathroom fittings, kitchen units, fitted wardrobes and wallpaper. You'll automatically be covered for frozen or burst pipes and accidental breakage of fixed glass or bathroom sanitary ware.

Remember if you have a mortgage or are remortgaging a property, your mortgage lender will require you to insure your buildings.
